Sticky Forest Pils: Weevil Collaboration Beer

Sticky Forest Pils: Weevil Collaboration Beer

A three-way collab brew with NobleBräu and Pisgah Bakehouse—Sticky Forest Pils blends New Zealand hops, local granola, and pure Brevard spirit.

Brewing With Community at the Core

Brevard has a way of bringing people together—on trails, in taprooms, and at music venues. That’s why teaming up with NobleBräu Brewing, a brewery deeply connected to the local scene through 185 King Street, felt so natural. With Cody Noble at the helm—a talented brewer and all-around amazing human—this collaboration quickly became more than just another beer release.

From the start, we knew this needed to be a beer that reflected everything we love about this community: trails, craft, and creativity. And as the idea evolved, it became clear this wasn’t just a two-way collab. It turned into a three-way partnership when our friends at Pisgah Bakehouse brought their locally made granola into the mix.

The Story Behind Sticky Forest

For us at Weevil Outdoor, beer and trails have always been connected. My brother Brian and I (Dustin Watts) grew up in the craft beer industry, with Brian - the self proclaimed "International Man of Beer" -  now working in New Zealand at 8 Wired Brewing, and myself running Terrapin Beer Company in Athens, GA for nearly 21 years.

When we purchased the property (with Weevil Founder, Josh Gaura) that became Weevil Gear & Beer, our LLC name was inspired by a legendary New Zealand trail system: Sticky Forest in Wanaka. It’s one of Brian’s home trails, a place that represents the same adventurous spirit we live here in Pisgah.

So when it came time to name this collaboration, we knew exactly what to call it: Sticky Forest Pils—a nod to the trails we love, the global roots of our story, and the shared energy of riders and brewers alike.

Brewing With New Zealand Hops…and Local Granola

Cody Noble is known for crafting beautiful pilsners and lagers, and for Sticky Forest Pils he went big: a crisp, clean beer brewed with 100% New Zealand hops—Motueka for bright lime and citrus, and Pacific Gem for bold berry spice.

But that’s not all. To truly make this beer a Brevard original, we incorporated granola from Pisgah Bakehouse. Their handmade granola brought subtle layers of malt complexity and a touch of local flavor, turning this into a truly unique brew you won’t find anywhere else.

The Release Party

On June 26th, we celebrated the release of Sticky Forest Pils with the community that made it possible. The beer garden was alive with friends, families, and music. Pints of the new pilsner flowed, and we dropped limited-edition Sticky Forest Pils t-shirts to mark the occasion.

The energy was pure Brevard: good vibes, local flavor, and a shared toast to the trails that connect us all.

Why Sticky Forest Pils Matters

At Weevil Outdoor, we believe in building more than just gear—we believe in building community. Collaborating with NobleBräu Brewing and Pisgah Bakehouse was about more than brewing a beer. It was about weaving together the people, flavors, and stories that make Brevard what it is.

Sticky Forest Pils is a celebration of trails, hops, and local craft—a three-way cheers to adventure, community, and the joy of sharing something special.
