The second annual collaboration between Weevil Outdoor and Noblebräu Brewing is back — brewed with 100% New Zealand hops and delivered by bike through Brevard, North Carolina.

For the second year in a row, we teamed up with our friends at Noblebräu Brewing here in Brevard, North Carolina, to brew Sticky Forest Pils — a crisp, hop-forward pilsner made with 100% New Zealand hops and a beer that has quickly become one of our favorite Weevil traditions.

But if we were going to make a beer together again, we figured we should get it from the brewery to Weevil Gear & Beer the right way.

So we grabbed some bikes.

From the Brewery to Weevil — On Two Wheels

The journey started where Sticky Forest Pils was brewed at Noblebräu. From there, the precious cargo was strapped onto a bike and pedaled across Brevard to its final destination: Weevil Gear & Beer, just outside the entrance to Pisgah National Forest.

No delivery van. No box truck.

Just bikes, beer, friends, and a trip across our hometown.

And yes, the keg made it.

Once it arrived at Weevil, there was really only one thing left to do: tap it, pour a few beers, and celebrate another year of Sticky Forest Pils.

That might be our favorite part of the whole thing.

A Pilsner With a Little More Adventure

Sticky Forest Pils starts with everything we love about a great pilsner! It's light, crisp, refreshing and incredibly drinkable, but then takes a turn toward the Southern Hemisphere.

The beer is hopped entirely with New Zealand-grown hops, bringing a brighter, more expressive hop character than you might expect from a traditional pilsner.

It's the kind of beer we want after a ride in Pisgah, hanging around the beer garden with friends, or sitting outside on a Western North Carolina summer afternoon.

In other words, it fits around here pretty well.

For us, this collaboration is also about something bigger than the beer.

Weevil has always been rooted in the idea of Proven in Pisgah. We design and test outdoor apparel in the mountains and trails surrounding our home in Brevard. Noblebräu approaches beer with that same independent, creative spirit.

Sticky Forest Pils brings those worlds together.

It's two local businesses making something fun because we enjoy working together and because we think the best parts of living here happen when bikes, beer, the outdoors and community collide.

The fact that we can brew a beer on one side of Brevard, put it on a bike, pedal it across town and pour it for friends at Weevil makes this place pretty damn special.

Last year started the tradition.

This year, we're keeping it rolling.

And judging by the delivery method, we're not planning on getting too sophisticated about it anytime soon.
